Pet Safe Ice Melt New Out Product 4.5kg Size

We have intentionally been as specific as possible with the following information on this product because we know that from speaking to many pet owners they are concerned about the welfare of their animals and are unhappy about the lack of information they often receive from suppliers of similar products.

This is a special formulation of granules developed for the fast and efficient removal of ice and snow from paths, runs, drives and walkways.

A blend of carbamide and propylene glycol, this ice melting compound is classified as relatively harmless to animals and humans (toxicity oral rat LD50: 8471 mg/kg ) Animals would have to eat large amounts to experience major problems making it much less harmful than eating salt. As well as pet friendly It is environmentally safe, non hazardous ( according to Directive 67/548/EEC ) and non corrosive on concrete, metals etc

Unlike conventional ice melting compounds like calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, Potassium chloride, rock salt etc which create heat as they dissolve ice on absorbing moisture these granules do not. The issue of heat creates a problem when dogs and cats etc get ice melting granules in their paws and this leads to burning. This is not a problem your pets will have with our granules.

As conventional ice melters absorb moisture they produce alkaline ( caustic ) solutions which are detrimental to your animals paws and skin causing painful burning sensations. This will not happen with our Pet Safe Ice Melt - when dissolved in water the pH=7.2 i.e. it is neutral.

The special microscopic coating of propylene glycol means that the product goes to work immediately even if temperature fall below -20 degrees. The granules will stick to the ice or snow and quickly break the surface and penetrate the mass resulting in the ice breaking up.

There are no adverse effects unlike salt when walking the residues onto carpets.

They are highly economical as a small amount goes a long way.
